Private ball

A few weeks ago I dropped into one of my favorite vintage stores to look around for something new. I tend to hunt for summer dresses, blouses, and the occasional hand bag, but this time I found, tucked into the rack of two-piece dress sets and jackets, an amazing emerald green ball gown. A perfectly kept Victor Costa bow dress for about $30 that zipped too! The thought of "where would I ever wear a ball gown" never entered my head and I walked out of the store triumphantly. I like to think if I imagine needing a gown, the opportunity to wear one will come along, but while I wait, I feel a little dress up never hurt anyone. Last night after dinner was finished and the night was winding down, I pulled out my highest heels and threw on my vintage find for a little early evening black-tie affair...ok, so it was only in my house, but the action did cause Paul to exclaim "let's go dancing!" The rest of the night felt a little more sparkly and provided the perfect break in an otherwise average week.
