Over the years I seem to have gathered quite the collection of skirts. Since I've pretty much given up on finding any shorts that look remotely acceptable on me (except one denim pair), the only other option for summer bottoms has become skirts. Bright colors, pencil styles, and pleated varieties all hang together in my closet, but only a few fall into the mini category. This skirt is the first one I've styled that unapologetically grazes well above my knees and offers a feminine (slightly coy) flip with every step. The color-blocked pattern is what drew me in originally and I can already see this working with a loose knit sweater and low heeled ankle boots in the fall. However, during this extreme heat I can fully embrace the skirt's skin baring qualities and pair it with a simple tank and sleek sandals. For an afternoon iced coffee run, the outfit and accompanying accessories made me feel a little much more feminine than my standard jean shorts ever could.

Very cute skirt, I just love it. Perfect for summer.

Skirts are so flattering–why even bother with shorts?! This little flippy number is divine!
ReplyDeleteLove that skirt on you! You paired it well with that tank too... I would have never thought of that.

ReplyDeleteand I totally know what you mean about not finding shorts. I haven't owned shorts for years. Because I finally realized, none of them look good on me!
the color combination is really nice. i can relate to your shorts problem. i have the same issue. i have much more luck finding a great fitting skirt or dress, even though i would love to start a shorts collection. i live in florida after all :)

so cute ~ love the pleats. And the color is perfect for summer.
ReplyDeleteI really love this skirt and it looks great on you. Coincidentally, I am wearing a dress that is much shorter than the usual on my blog today. I was a little self-conscious wearing it at first, but then I loved how swingy and fun it felt after I got used to it. I have just started noticing how shorts just aren't quite looking the same on me anymore and have also been choosing skirts more often. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous skirt! Seeing these pics really makes me want summer already. On the bright side, it's 8 weeks till sppring :).
