Combinations from the top:
1. The gourmet - Squirrel Nut Brand Artisan Peanut Butter and Luxardo Extra Apricot Jam
2. The newcomer - Blackberry Farm Peanut Butter and Pineapple Vanilla Preserve
3. The unexpected - Bronte Pistachio Cream and Fika Queen Jam
Peanut butter is part of at least one of my meals every day. I've been known to use tiny shrimp forks to scoop out dollops of the blended goodness in an attempt to look civilized while refraining from eating the jar in one sitting (nuts are healthy anyways right?!). I can however contain my excitement for anything peanut butter related, like the classic PB&J, when it comes time to entertain like an adult. I can definitely mingle among the canapes, nibble on tiny plates petit fours, and enjoy a salad course with the taste buds of my age group, but what if a party consisted of re-imagined peanut butter and jelly sandwiches? The two worlds combine and suddenly adults and their inner child can celebrate together. For a future cocktail party the combinations above can create enhanced flavors, new mixes, and anti-peanut flavors entirely. I'm thinking of it as an appetizer platter that is adult-only.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Let me know if you have any other unexpected flavor duos you're trying out.

I'm a really big fan of jam but not of PB&J and the presentation is perfect!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great idea! I love dressing up simple classics to make them a little more gourmet. Yum!

YUM! John adores almond butter and honey, but I'm a fan of freshly blended peanut with a bit of homemade raspberry jelly!
ReplyDeleteI love love this post! Oh so classy, with a smidgen of fun.
