"Inspired by" with Heather

Time...

Lately it seems as though there hasn't been enough time. I try to set goals for myself but I always end up falling short of completing them. Juggling a full time job, a long-term relationship and a growing photography business is hard.  Forget about reading that book I bought three months ago, it's still on the shelf gathering dust. Oh and did I mention the half marathon I'm training for? And don't even get me started on transitioning a winter wardrobe over to spring lovelies organized by color and style. My closet has turned into its' own version of the Bermuda Triangle - things go in and then....they mysteriously vanish.
I know that many of you are shaking your heads yes, we're right there with you. I've read the blogs, tried the tips, bought the organizers and layed awake many nights thinking about how it would all get done.  Here's what I've figured out. Do what you can and don't worry about the rest. Take it a day at a time and set small, achievable goals for yourself that make you feel good when you check them off. Sometimes little victories feel just as good as the big ones.

And don't forget:

Take a moment or two for yourself everyday - breathe deeply and just relax.

Make time for friends and family. Tuck your phone away and enjoy each other's company.

Stop worrying about what you didn't get done today - I personally feel like I spend too much time living in the future when I should be enjoying the present.

Savor those last bites of dessert, that first sip of coffee or that gorgeous sunset you just watched.

Appreciate the little things, they're what makes life so wonderful.

  1. I'm a list-maker and relish in getting to cross off a task no matter how small it is! It also prevents me from feeling completely overwhelmed!

  2. I'm with Lauren–all about lists, but also making them manageable. If I put down everything I want to accomplish in the week, I'd turn into a puddle. But everything I need to get done today, with space to eat and breath and do the other things that pop up? Now that's what I call a good day.
