This past week was the big push to get the living room styled and ready to go for some light entertaining. The final table was purchased and the rug was delivered just in time, a little deer head arrived in the mail as well. Now that familiar cozy feeling has crept back into the room and I am excited to share its welcome interior with visitors. The room took on a grey and yellow theme that is carried throughout, while the dark wood and polished floor added its own bit of flair and mini touches on the mantle brought the focus to the heavy wooden centerpiece. I went with a whimsical wing chair and pouf ottoman that can double as a seat. The jute rug is a neutral addition that brightens the room significantly, along with the large candles in the fireplace, perched on glass stands. It's a start, but this first phase of design definitely makes me feel better about having people over.
