I'm back from a week of traveling and nothing feels better than starting a new week with an unpacked suitcase, clean home, and flowers to brighten up the space. One of my favorite ways to decorate is to scatter vases of blooms throughout the house adding fragrance and color to each room. I've picked up a handful of arrangement tips over the years, but this time I decided to add a sweet note to the vase to make it stand out a bit more. The addition of rustic twine and a simple hang tag make this homemade arrangement feel florist bought, while the purple and white flowers offer a play on color with three types of blooms.
| Tools needed: Three types of flowers, scissors, compact vase, twine, tags |
| I like to pick one color then choose a handful of flowers in the same shade. This time I switched up the purple theme with the addition of clean white roses mixed in with tulips and stock. Remove all leaves and trim stems. |
| Start with the center bunch then work around creating a bouquet. I like the gather one type of flower on the sides while creating a strip of stock through the middle to keep the arrangement from looking overly mixed. |
| A simple hang tag with a sweet message adds a bit of interest to the vase. |
| Wrap the twine around the vase then fluff each bloom fixing flower placement as needed. |
Very cute notes! I might use this idea for a baby shower we have coming up.
